Analog Labs in Santa Clara plays a vital role in supporting new process technology development in the Analog Technology Development group.

About the job:

The ideal candidate requires a strong background in measurement and characterization techniques for silicon devices such as DC, CV, gate charge, reverse recovery, matching, low frequency noise, ESD TLP, and s-parameter measurements.

Specific Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position will be wafer level electrical characterization of semiconductor devices. The candidate will be expected to perform DC measurements on MOS (e.g., idsat, idrive, beta, early voltage), BJT, diodes, and resistors, as well as specialized measurements such as capacitance (CV), time domain (reverse recovery), matching, flicker noise, ESD transmission line pulse (TLP) and HF measurements (s-parameters).

Additional responsibilities include: running automated wafer parametric test equipment and packaged part parametric test using manual and automated testers; assisting with lab organization and upkeep including equipment calibration, coordinating equipment maintenance, equipment inventory, tracking incoming and outgoing silicon, lab safety and compliance. The candidate must also be willing to learn new skills and be flexible with assignments. This position requires strong analytical skills, basic programming skills for testing, and strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be a team player and will interact regularly with process integration, device characterization, modeling, reliability and design engineers.

The work schedule is expected to be 1st shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires an AAS degree in a electronics related field or equivalent military training / experience.

  • Has electrical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of general test and measurement equipment: Agilent 407x parametric testers, 4142/4156/E5270,B150x parameter analyzers, 4284 LCR meter or equivalent , Keithley parameter analyzer, Agilent or Keithley switching matrices, Agilent E8364C PNA or equivalent, spectrum/signal analyzers for low noise

  • Experience with manual and automated probers: Cascade Summit 12K, PS21 automated testers or equivalent

  • Software and basic programming skills for testing: SPECS, ICCAP, ICS

  • Operating systems: linux

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Powerpoint, Excel
