About the job

As a Facilities Engineer at TI, you’ll be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI’s manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :

  • Responsible to lead and manage all Mechanical equipment/system in the plant. A representative for the company as required by law, rules and regulations

  • To sign and seal all the drawings documents required by the government. Conduct walkthrough and inspections in the company and submit the engineering report

  • Provide technical evaluation and certificate of the safe operation of all existing mechanical machineries

  • Issue certificate of safe operation after testing of equipment have been conducted

  • Attend the testing and commissioning of new equipment installed by the company

  • Design, develops, test and maintains mechanical and electromechanical equipment and system in the plant

  • Overall in charge of mechanical equipment

  • Evaluates and improve equipment in the engineering concepts

  • Oversee installations and operations, as well as the maintenance and repair of these equipment

  • Analyze, manage, coordinate and supervise business partner to ensure proper and effective implementation of all maintenance activities with zero interruption

  • Manage, supervise, implement and monitor projects, CAPA related projects and improvement projects that meets the organization goals and target setting

  • Review, calculate, plan and mange budget for future development in line with the organization business objectives and strategy

  • Work closely with purchasing and other stakeholders covering business contract, PR/PO execution and other legal business entity

  • Develop and execute a level competency of engineering know how for energy and cost saving improvement plans / project and cost reduction programs

  • Review, draft, improve and implement standard operation procedures (SOP) on the systems

  • Review, investigate and trouble-shoot incidences and system fault using various methodology like 8D, fish bone diagram, FMEA, etc. to minimize and prevent future incidences and restore the system to its desired operating condition or better

  • Coordinate and work closely with other sections and department to align and streamline on operations and project requirement

  • Hold ownership of system / equipment in the plant and other paraphernalia and activities related to the system

  • Up to date documentation / P&ID / SOP other related procedures in place.

  • Analyze, evaluate and improve the system as necessary

  • Resolve daily facility escalated issues, troubleshooting and re-solve the problems.

  • Ability to think innovatively and maintain low cost of operation. Implement energy reduction and cost saving project

  • Execute area and system 5S to his / her owned facilities system.

  • Provides technical expertise on various technical standards and engineering requirements

  • Works with limited supervision on the assigned tasks

  • Learn and understand TI organization, business methods, philosophies, project execution strategies and priorities

  • Comply with Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Management systems and maintain company procedures to ensure all duties are executed in a safe manner minimizing harm to individuals, equipment and the environment


Minimum requirements :

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Must be a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer

  • Must be willing to work on shifting schedule

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
