Texas Instruments Material Engineer in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Interface across various work areas and organizations to help with the design, development and analysis of different semiconductor packaging technologies to enable differentiation for TI’s analog and embedded processing products. Material engineers play an important role at TI which encompasses the following responsibilities:

  • Mold compound or die attach material technical leader to explore broadly and understand industry trends

  • Material characterization expert to suggest technical assessment methods and drive for roadmap development

  • Drive roadmap development to achieve cost entitlement and extend package capability

  • Look for common capability gaps and innovate new developments to resolve challenges

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve organization priorities and provide technical suggestions

  • Be a part of a collaborative, cross-functional team

Responsibilities may include:

  • Develop new package requirements and maintaining quality of existing packages for all product groups

  • Define package requirements for product groups and customer requirements

  • Develop new package and process qualification programs.

  • Perform integrity analysis of packages utilizing appropriate tools

  • Perform package characterizations including cost effectiveness studies.

  • Act as a liaison with vendors

  • Maintain product quality while developing and introducing package cost reduction programs

  • Coordinate the introduction of new package processes into production

  • Prepare and/or updates specifications for piece parts of integrated circuits or semiconductor assemblies

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master degree or above in Material Science or Polymer

  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA, or higher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid mold compound and/or die attach material development experiences

  • Deep experiences for material characterization

  • Fluent oral and written English

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills of working with multi-functional teams in local and global environment

  • Ability to work under high pressure and flawlessly deliver results within limited timeline

  • Independently resolves complex issues, challenges with minimal guidance

  • 23 years solid mold compound and/or die attach materials which include epoxy die attach, solder die attach and DAF development experiences in semiconductor packaging and/or assembly engineering filed with proven record for developing, qualification and release to production would be plus
