Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with a passion for process. This position provides the opportunity to drive continual improvement at all levels. Our team is primarily focused on driving improved procedures and processes. We are searching for a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join our team.

The responsibilities of a Process Development Engineer in this role include:

  • Develops new of modified processes, defines processing and equipment requirements and specifications; reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture of products

  • Involvement may begin at any step from Paper Study, Pilot Plant to full-scale manufacturing

  • Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications

  • May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment, automation technology, approaches in the processing or development of new or improved process

  • Provides technical and sustaining engineering support in the manufacturing area

  • Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, fundamental capabilities and production yields for existing products.

  • Develops and conducts statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting physical causes of failure for yield loss and improving quality.

  • Partners with vendors to define and execute on equipment and process development roadmaps.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

• Research & Thesis work related to: Advanced (<32nm) Semiconductor logic devices, Group IV materials, Dopant introduction in silicon, diffusion behaviors & kinetics, Semiconductor CMOS device and device physics. * Working knowledge of Process development, characterization and modelling for any/all of Ion implant, Insitu-doping, RTP/RTA, MSA * Demonstrated understanding of silicon wafer behavior mechanisms; Silicone defectivity & damage, Dopant activation/deactivation & diffusion control &/or ion implant methodologies. * Strong foundation in statistical process control, Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical data analysis Preferred qualifications: * Working knowledge of advanced CMOS device physics and reliability mechanisms in advanced logic, analog and CMOS technologies. * Strong background data analysis, experiment and interaction modelling * Experience in research and experimentation with a variety of Semiconductor manufacturing processes; Ion Implant & SW-treatment techniques, particularly, High Current Implant, Medium Current Implant, High Energy Implant, RTP/RTA, MSA. * Working familiarity and hands on experience with related Semiconductor manufacturing Equipment * Experience with and understanding of surface analysis techniques like XPS, AFM, XRD, AES, EBSD, TOFSIMS, DSIMS, HR-RBS, etc. * Device physics training with understanding of materials and electrical test characterization * Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions and locations * Ability to take the initiative and drive for results * Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery * Working well in a team environment is imperative in this role. * Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships * Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills To be considered for this position, please apply.
